The New Lady Dior Campaign

Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard, playing the role of Lady Macbeth in the Justin Kurzel film Macbeth which comes out in France on November 18, is the face of the new Lady Dior bag in the latest ad campaign by photographer duo Mert & Marcus.

For this new Lady Dior advertising campaign, photographer duo Mert & Marcus, renowned for their collaborations with Vanity Fair and Vogue Paris, capture Marion Cotillard in the intimate atmosphere of a bedroom, for a series of photos, as well as a behind the scenes video that you can discover later today. House muse since 2008, the Oscar-winning actress, sublime in a black dress with geometric décolleté from the cruise 2016 collection presented last May at Palais de Bulles, lounges in bed while surrounded by floral blooms and satin sheets. The 40-year-old French star poses in a body-hugging black dress alongside the Lady Dior bag decorated with a silver emblem. Finishing the look, Marion wears a smokey eyeshadow look and retro-inspired curls, unveils the new models of Lady Dior in turn. The emblematic House accessory comes in crimson red as well as a new-era metallic cannage.

More DIOR ...

Raf Simons is leaving his role as artistic director of women’s haute couture, ready-to-wear and accessory collections at DIOR, the French luxury fashion house announced last Thursday. According to Dior, Simons “reached this decision for personal reasons.” The designer’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection, presented in Paris last month, was his last for Dior and marks the end of his three-and-a-half year tenure at the house. Simons’ successor has yet to be identified, but the search for a replacement has begun, according to market sources.

Lily-Rose Depp As The New Face of CHANEL Eyewear

Making of the eyewear campaign featuring Lily-Rose Depp, the 16-year-old daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis has been cast as the fashion house's new fall/winter '15/16 campaign star, fronting its new pearl eyewear advert, shot by Karl Lagerfeld. She plays a baby doll "in a world imbued with sweetness and femininity" - there are definitely some Lolita vibes going on here.

"Lily-Rose is stunning, she's a young girl from a new generation with all the qualities of a star," said Lagerfeld. Depp's mother has a long-standing history with Chanel - Paradis has modelled for the label since 1990 and is still a friend of Lagerfeld. She took her daughter to Chanel's Cruise 2016 show in NewYork earlier this year. First, for the American buyers and press who weren't flown out to Salzburg this past December,  Karl et al have reprised the Austrian-inspired Metiers d'Art show in the fair city of New York on March 31, 2015.

Dressed in Chanel and sporting exquisite platinum and diamond creations from the re-issue of the house’s 1932 “Bijoux de Diamants” collection - the only high jewelry collection ever created by Gabrielle Chanel - they were the epitome of elegance as they embraced the gambling spirit. Ever the perfectionist, Chanel ensured no detail was spared for this ephemeral game space: the slot machines sported references to 31 rue Cambon, Camellias and Mademoiselle Chanel’s fetish numbers (5 in particular); locked-Cs came interspersed with playing card motifs to form a monogram on the geometric gray and beige carpet.

The Ethereal Take: VALENTINO S/S 2015 AD-Campaign

For its Spring/Summer 2015 advertisements, Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli have chosen new talent Michal Pudelka of Slovakia. This is the photographer’s first international campaign and features an ethereal take on the new collection.

Models Maartje Verhoef, Grace Simmons, Hedvig Palm, Vanessa Moody and Clémentine Deraedt are mermaids posing on the sandy beach, or wood nymphs while lounging in an enchanted forest setting.

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are no literalists, though. The techniques they have at their fingertips pristine, crunchy, cutout tablecloth linen, rippling treatments of georgette, mind-blowing embroideries of minute feathers, beads, and crystals have been passed down directly, hand-to-hand, from the master himself, but they’ve been lightened up. So much so, that you can see a good deal of skin these days through the dresses on a Valentino runway.

In the past years CHANEL marks a great resort tradition with its previous presentations in Dallas, Singapore, Edimbourg, Chateau de Versailles, Bombay at Grand Palais and Byzance.

This time Karl Lagerfeld was silhouetted against a night sky, the moon hanging somewhere to his left, the hazy cityscape of Dubai ranged behind him: extreme stagecraft of the kind CHANEL lavishes on its cruise show these days. CHANEL set the precedent that resort at The Island, Jumeirah Beach Road, is a time for setting off on jaunts to entertain the customers of the world in their own habitats, and, goodness, it’s got the competition running between brands for extravagant gestures of entertainment and hospitality.
