// POISON GIRL // The new fragrance by Dior on set with Camille Rowe. Deliciously scandalous. A bittersweet floral signature by François Demachy, Dior’s Perfumer-Creator. Available now in stores.
So in love with these stunning flacons of POISON by DIOR
The
highly graphic motif inspired several looks in the Dior ready-to-wear
Autumn/Winter 2016/2017 show, which took place in the Cour Carrée of the
Louvre Friday, 5th March, 2016. It could be found enlarged and
transposed into pink
and bordeaux on a silk jacquard coatdress. It also appeared on an
orange and gray sweater, contrasting with the twinkling embroidered
flowers on the skirt.
In the new advertising campaign for the NEW Gucci Bamboo fragrance lensed by Mert and Marcus with the accompanying video directed by Fabien Baron, Gal Gadot plays the modern Gucci woman: desired, seductive, sensual, and captivating.
The
actress, famed for her roles in the Fast and Furious movie franchise,
is set to star as Wonder Woman in the upcoming 'Batman vs Superman: Dawn
of Justice' summer blockbuster in 2016. Ahead of that, the former Miss Israel Universe headlines her first big luxury campaign for Gucci Bamboo.
Gucci
Bamboo has long been an icon of the House of Gucci. It was first
utilized in a Gucci Bamboo bagcreated in 1947 as a result of the
war-time rationing of materials. Craftsmen heated and bent the bamboo
into the curved handle that has become a signature icon of the label,
appearing in its timepieces, jewellery, footwear and now, the NEW Gucci Bamboo fragrance.
Gal's background as a model and dancer, make her lithe and lissom.
Her service in the national army, make her tough and resolute.
Bamboo
flourishes in extreme conditions. Able to withstand a hurricane’s
force, its natural strength compares to steel. Slender and elegant,
bamboo soars willowy over other vegetation.
The Gucci woman is the same; She is full of vitality, she is adaptable, and she faces life’s changes with ease. The new perfume from the Italian luxury label is a blend of exotic
florals with top notes of bergamot, heart notes of casablanca lily and
ylang ylang extra-comoros and finished off with base notes of
sandalwood. The boldly cut art deco, diamond-style glass facets of
the flacon contrasts elegantly with soft pink liquid inside, whilst the
polished silver cap with its ridged contours is unmistakably Gucci
Bamboo. The fragrance is available as 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum with body lotion, shower gel and deodorant. Find out more here.
Italian fashion label Gucci is exploring the captivating qualities of
the woman who wears its new Bamboo fragrance in a cinematic campaign.
Featuring Israeli actress Gal Gadot, the one-minute video explores
the protagonist’s enchanting capabilities from the perspective of a male
voiceover. Associating a desirable personality with the fragrance may
help inspire aspirational consumers to purchase as a way to create their
own allure.
“Gucci’s strategy is perfectly simple,” said David Benattar, CEO of Hyperbolic, a New York-based creative agency. “One, it uses the most superb photography and controlled narrative to
celebrate the woman of today’s extraordinary qualities,” he said.
“She’s a natural overachiever dressed in superb Gucci."
“She shows the attractive confidence of a well honed craft and
sophistication. And, if one could possibly argue with this choice, Gucci
uses Gal Gadot as its new emblem, a woman of exceptional beauty and
achievements. Let us be seduced.”
The
bottle design blends delicate sensibility with strong lines. A glass art
deco bottle in the shape of a diamond contrasts with the pink inside. A
polished silver cap tops off with the signature Bamboo icon.

Discover Sasha Luss behind the scenes for the Dior Addict fragrance film directed by Harmony Korine and photographed by Ryan McGingley beautifully portrayed the image of a Dior Addict heroine, free and sexy. They have captured the beauty of youth, endless smiles and adventurous nature at #wonDiorland. Watch the video of the Making-Of.
In front of the respective cameras of Ryan
McGinley - star photographer of the New York avant-garde scene - and
Harmony Korine - director of Springbreakers and numerous music
videos - Sasha Luss' smile is sparkling, bursting with insouciance and
youthfulness. Today we discover the world behind the scenes of the Dior Addict Eau de Toilette campaign, as the star model plays in a dreamlike and poetic scenario. Sometimes playful, like when she dangles from a crystal chandelier,
sometimes carried away by a demented dance on a giant medallion-backed
chair, her face is the effervescent image of happiness and youth, just
like the fragrance she's embodying.
"The most important thing for me is that my models are at ease with their bodies," explains Ryan Mc Ginley. "In my mind, the Dior woman is a strong and liberated woman. This is what I wanted to express with Dior Addict."
'Like a dress embroidered with a
thousand tiny flowers, Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet pays tribute to
Christian Dior's legendary passion for flowers.'
A floral fragrance like a bouquet of a thousand blooms - "Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is a smooth and carefully formed perfume, not a sensory assault, but rather a halo, like an aura. It's a "bubble " perfume, one possessing the extreme elegance of gentleness ,"
states François Demachy, the house's exclusive perfumer-creator. At the
heart of this delicate fragrance lies the subtly sweet perfume of the
peony, recreated here through a harmonious combination of rose and
fruity notes.
Natalie Portman, wearing a Dior Haute Couture
floral dress designed by Raf Simons, embodies the spirit of the new Miss
Dior Blooming Bouquet fragrance. Thousands of flowers in the most delicate shades, an infinity of silky petals delicately blooming. The Miss Dior dress embody Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is a reflection of the fragrance, feminine and springlike.
Discover Natalie Portman behind the scenes, at the heart of the House of Dior, 30 Avenue Montaigne, Paris. Is it an armful of flowers or a silk embroidery, a spring bouquet or the finery of a fresh and winsome woman? The Miss Dior
haute couture dress designed by Raf Simons casts a certain element of
doubt, and for good reason: with the natural sophistication of a flower
in full bloom, it takes its inspiration from the Trompe l’œil line designed by Christian Dior for spring-summer 1949.
A collection to which, in the couturier's own words, "all
the colors of the meadows and the gardens bring their gaiety: the white
of the lily-of-the-valley and the white hyacinth, the pink of peonies
and roses, the violet of violets, of lilacs and clematis, the yellow of
primrose and buttercup, the blue of the cornflower, of forget-me-not
and larkspur, the red of poppy and generanium, the green of growing
grass and the warm gold of ripened wheat..."
Revisiting the legacy of the founding couturier, Raf Simons conceived a
light spring dress with a contemporary allure. A dress with a nipped
waist and a Corolle skirt, on which can be found the colors of
all the natural and fragile flowers so dear to Christian Dior. From the
white tones on the bustier to the shades of lilac, peony and rose that
decorate the ends of the skirt, the little silk petals that completely
cover this extraordinary garment were sewn entirely by hand by the petites mains
in the Dior haute couture atelier. It is a pointillist work, a fresh
and delicate impressionistic feat, and a reflection of the fragrance Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet.
'When Raf Simons arrived at Christian Dior nearly two years ago, he had to personally meet every single member of
the ateliers who painstakingly labor to create things of such lyrical
beauty that oftentimes it barely looks like a human hand has ever
touched them. Flash ahead to this week, and Simons used his exquisite
spring 2014 couture to honor all that les petites mains do at
Dior.'
From May 5th until June 5th, 2013 the Palais de Tokyo in Paris has housed the N°5 Culture Chanel exhibition as part of its Guest Program. This exhibition has once again been entrusted to Jean-Louis Froment, the
curator of the previous editions of Culture Chanel, held successively
in Moscow’s Pushkin State Museum for Fine Arts, in Beijing at the
National Art Museum of China and more recently in the Opera House in
Canton. Made up of subtle plays of correspondences, N°5 Culture Chanel cracks
the N°5 code to reveal the links which connected it to specific moments
in time and to the avant-garde movements it spanned.
Enjoy the whole N°5 Culture Chanel video coverage with the exhibition finale!
Love, Andrea
The works of art, photographs, archives and objects exhibited provide an
account of the many inspirations which fed the imagination and world of
Mademoiselle Chanel. They echo her inner thoughts and shed light on
this unique and timeless perfume; whether through her favorite
destinations like Venice, Russia or her villa, La Pausa or through the
creations of her artist, poet and musician friends Cocteau, Picasso,
Apollinaire, Stravinsky, Picabia. Focusing on the long lasting attachments between Chanel and the arts,
N°5 Culture Chanel seeks to reveal the timeless and iconic artistic
essence of the N°5 perfume. The N°5 Culture Chanel Exhibition has been put together by Jean-Louis
Froment with the participation of Irma Boom, Piet Oudolf, Laurent
Burgisser and Jérôme Schlomoff.

« A drop of CHANEL N°5 is much more than a drop of perfume ... »
Jean-Louis Froment, Curator of the N°5 CULTURE CHANEL exhibition
« N°5 is a perfume that travels afar. It crosses countries, gardens,
books, poems and artistic movements, where it’s taken as a source for
the modernity of its composition. It’s a perfume born of a love story,
which its base note very subtly evokes at precisely the same instant
time grasps it and carries it to us; so close and never fugitive,
revealing even our most secret failings. Indefinable, the words that
speak of it are abstract and the images which accompany it superposed on
the thick layer of an artistic memory without time. The cultural effect
which accompanies N°5 and the unique aura that encircles it, bring
continuity to this perfume and enable it to span all periods with
knowing assurance. And this journey has no end; it continues to merge
and mix with an irreversible movement onward through time. Like a work
of art which is renewed with each visitor’s gaze at every exhibition,
N°5 recomposes its history with each encounter and time it traverses.
Sustained by a set of references attached to the adventures of
Modernity’s artistic forms and with Gabrielle Chanel’s very singular and
romantic story as a backdrop, the N°5 perfume has gained the status of
creation. »
Jean-Louis Froment, Curator of the exhibition
