 About

Georges Hobeika opened the doors of his atelier in 1995 and began working diligently on his couture label, with the help of his mother and a few skilled workers. After he conducted his first fashion show in Beirut in 1996, his reputation for creating exquisite evening gowns and wedding dresses with the finest handiwork grew quickly throughout the Middle East. To support the atelier's increasing client base, it soon employed over 100 skilled workers and comprised various specialized workshops to meet the demand for Georges Hobeika designs.

By 2001, Georges Hobeika and his team were prepared to present their first international defilè which was held at the prestigious "Hotel K" in Paris. Every year since, the atelier has presented its creations on the biannual Paris Fashion Week runways to the applause of fashion lovers seeking pure creation and brave originality. Other major European fashion events on Georges Hobeika's resume include Naples pour Amnesty International, Caroussel du Louvres, Saint James et Albany, Ecole des Beaux Arts and Grand Hotel in France, in addition to dressing models in five Chopard defiles.

In March 2010, Georges Hobeika officially opened his Paris showroom on prestigious Rue Royale in the city's eighth arrondissement and operates a fullfledged press office to cater to European editorial and celebrity requests. The Georges Hobeika brand is also officially represented in the United States for all press and celebrity placements in the Americas.

Georges Hobeika and his creations have been extensively featured in some of the world's most prestigious fashion publications, including VOGUE, HOLA! and L'OfficieI, and on the Internet's most popular fashion sites and blogs. In the world of celebrity, fashionistas such as, Jennifer Lopez, Anna Kendrick, Eva Longoria and Diane Kruger have embraced his collections. Georges Hobeika's creations have also been worn by Hilary Swank, Julia Stiles and Juliette Lewis.

Today, the fashion house of Georges Hobeika boasts the designer's Couture collection; his Couture and Prét-a-porter Bridal collections; his SIGNATURE line of luxury evening, cocktail and corporate looks; and GH by Georges Hobeika, his new casual day wear line for young women with modern, dynamic lifestyles.

Accentuating the female form is nothing less than a labor of love for couture designer Georges Hobeika. For over 20 years, his passion an inborn talent have combined to envision masterpieces that exude femininity and sensuality with a creative touch that is all his own. From inspiration to creation, every Hobeika design is the quintessential expression of a woman's inner beauty and seductive nature perfectly balanced with virtuous grace.

The son of a seamstress, Georges Hobeika discovered his love for fashion design as he fullfilled his mother's request to assist her in servicing her growing clientele. While his study of civil engineering had proved invaluable for the sketch work, it was Georges Hobeika's imagination and raw embroidering talent that won the hearts of his mother's younger clients and bekoned his future in couture creation. Intrigued by fabrics and the thrill of creating his own designs, he took on an increasingly proactive role in the business and decided to travel to the heart of haute couture to pursue a career in fashion design more seriously.

In 1994, he ventured to Paris and pursued internships at prestigious fashion houses. The world of high fashion was enrapturing and proved the perfect arena for Georges Hobeika to hone his inborn talent. Shortly after, he returned home to open his own atelier in Beirut and continued to support his mother's work by fully integrating her clientele with his. Proud of his unique beginnings, Georges Hobeika is happy to see what started out as a small family business become the thriving fashion house it is today.

More To Love ...

Georges Hobeika’s Fall/Winter 2013/14 Haute Couture collection entitled ‘Dame de Lys’ reflects creativity, femininity, glamour, detail richness and craftsmanship at its highest level. The historical elements he included in the collection, such as the ruff, with its Victorian era inspired high ruffled necks and embellished, decorative deal, are simply magnificent.

Throwback to Paris Haute Couture with some of my backstage moments on VALENTINO Spring/Summer 2014 Haute Couture.

The Stéphane Rolland's Haute Couture collection, for Spring/Summer 2014, is a real sunset. A warm color palette, from orange mango to yellow, mixed with tangerine, saffron and a touch of black and white. The models' silhouette is wrapped in garments that resemble sculptures without ever appearing rigid.

'ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER Spring 2014 Couture'

Alexandre Vauthier pumped up the artistic side of his Spring/Summer 2014 Couture collection. Braided leather added edge and texture to his body-hugging looks, while macramé tops and dresses — some were entirely knotted from hand-woven ropes — gave off an ethnic flair. Alexander Vauthier is somewhat beach-bound, giving surf gear a sleek revamp, sans a pair of sunglasses or a neon bikini in sight.

'Promise Of Spring - ELIE SAAb Spring 2014 Couture'

INSPIRED by the work of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, the nineteenth-century Dutch artist painted scenes from the Roman Empire. His subjects always seemed to be reclining amid marble statuary, and there was a good chance that the Mediterranean Sea was shimmering in the background.

'The Cambon Club | CHANEL Spring 2014 Couture'

Minimalist staging set the tone for the Chanel Spring/Summer 2014 Haute Couture show. Beneath the domed glass ceiling of the Grand Palais, a stage consisting of glowing white walls and polished steel panels revealed a large staircase from which models emerged at the show’s opening.

'ARMANI Prive´Spring 2014 Couture'

The fashion proceedings, which you see here, were centered on two of Giorgio Armani’s career-long themes: his interest in Asian cultures, filtered through his deep love of early black-and-white movies. Both influences were apparent in almost everything he showed.

'Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture'

Inspirations straight from Garden Eden, the mystical garden segment of Zuhair Murad's Spring/Summer 2014 Couture collection overall contained a multitude of camellias, roses, peonies, gentian, and more, all shimmering atop gowns, jumpsuits, and cocktail frocks.

'Bejeweled Impact by Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 Couture'

Most outstanding: a beautiful strapless dress with a pale ivory whoosh of tulle skirt and a pale pink bodice with a veiled flower embroidery, anchored with a deep black ribbon, tied in a bow.

Some days before Paris Haute Couture Week,  I relished an exceptional couture moment with Albrecht Ollendiek in his Frankfurt based haute couture showroom. A very private appointment in a very private space of haute couture - Saalgasse 10, Frankfurt. So excited, because Albrecht is one of my favourite couturiers since more than 15 years and his annual couture shows at Schlosshotel Kronberg are renomed as a fashionable highlight in the Rhein-Main area.

'Ethereal Haute Couture by VALENTINO'

The design duo of the moment,  Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli took their inspiration for the VALENTINO Spring 2014 Haute Couture from "the most fantastical Italian opera possible". They took us in a "beyond exquisite" embroidered flora and fauna - Garden of Eden - the runway was a special hand painted catwalk, painted by the Roman operatic house.

'3-D Floral Sequins by DIOR Spring 2014 Couture'

When Raf Simons arrived at Christian Dior nearly two years ago, he had to personally meet every single member of the ateliers who painstakingly labor to create things of such lyrical beauty that oftentimes it barely looks like a human hand has ever touched them. Flash ahead to this week, and Simons used his exquisite spring 2014 couture to honor all that les petites mains do at Dior.

'Atelier Versace Spring 2014 Couture'

"A juxtaposition of glamour and mystery, with cinched-in poise meeting the fluidity and provocation of Grace Jones. Different ways with draping: sculpted and controlled to highlight the lines of sleek tailoring, or liberated and sensual for fluid silk jersey dresses."
