Dior unveils the Kingdom of Colors Spring Makeup Collection 2015 (ltd. Edition). Discover the inspiration adorned by Monsieur Dior personal coat of arms, the 2015 Spring Makeup Collection reveals a blossoming color scheme.
In his 'Kingdom Of Colours' beauty look for Dior, Peter Philips, the House's creative and image director of makeup, celebrates color with freshness and intensity. Discover the inspiration behind this springtime makeup rich in contrasts.
Resplendent with luscious, peachy or powdery pink, cherry red, sea green and violet aubergine, the color palette as revisited by Peter Philips glows with gaiety, radiating joie de vivre. It’s one of nature blossoming like springtime, like the brightly colored flowers so beloved of Christian Dior. In the garden where he spent his youth, at Granville in Normandy, he was captivated by the bright and vibrant shades that burst into bloom before his eyes. Rose petals contrasted with the fresh green of luxuriant herbs, with huge swathes of flowers making up artistically colored canvasses. When he became a couturier, this passion for color informed all his creations. His striking dresses were a revelation for women the world over. After years of dullness and darkness, Dior’s embrace of color marked a cheerful renaissance, the veritable arrival of spring. Peter Philips, the House’s creative and image director for makeup, pays homage to this colorful heritage. This spring, the Kingdom of Colors look celebrates a technicolor world – one of nature, one of Dior. A graphic and contemporary palace of pigments, in which all combinations are permitted in order to light up the face.
The colors palette for face, eyes and lips is filled with 10 custom colors and four professional applicators tucked inside a graphic palette embossed with the personal crest of Christian Dior. The palette features a mattifying skin-perfecting powder; a pearly highlighter and coral blush to enhance the complexion; and a deep purple enhanced with a silver shadow; an illuminating touch of aqua green shadow; and a black eyeliner to define the eyes. An iridescent coral gloss and a powdery pink lipstick adorn your lips and four professional brushes make application a breeze.

'The new 'New Look' by DIOR Fall/Winter 2014/15'
Some of the themes that Raf Simons has been busy exploring these past few years have centered around women and power, negotiating femininity in a masculine world, and gender and the domestic environment. That’s all pretty theoretical-sounding, maybe better suited to a doctorate than to a runway show. Of course, as Simons has ably shown, pondering those concepts has led him to create some absolutely dazzling fashion, and none more so than with his phenomenal fall 2014 Prêt-à-Porter collection for Dior.
