Resort might be a season for exotic getaways, but it also coincides with the season to be merry. Marc Jacobs’s presentation was enough to put editors in a party mood before breakfast, and the parade of fun and flirty cocktail dresses would be best accessorized with a glass of champagne. The good-time vibes were underscored by velvet slips studded with gigantic crystals and sequined leopard-print shorts suits cut at thigh-grazing lengths and paired with sheer tights and satin sling-backs.
As far as festive footwear goes, the slouchy, sparkly boots are likely to make the biggest impression on the dance floor, especially with embellished frocks that were covered with oversize Marie Antoniette–style bows. After a harsh winter of bundling up, the idea of shining a little brighter and showing a lot more skin is a refreshing, if daring, proposition. Party girls who still have cold feet should layer up with a gorgeous bright pink astrakhan fur and hip-skimming satin skinny pants.
