Each garment evokes the splendour of those baroque palaces and their great society balls as well as the boudoirs where corsets were passion and pitter patter accomplices. Bows, lace inserts, hooks, strings, pleats and precious embroideries resembling antique medallions offer the seductive secrets that Sicilian noblewomen revealed with a special artistry that should be rediscovered: coquetry.

The Romance Night by LA PERLA Lingerie

An atmosphere of fantasy, romance and passion. These are the main themes of LA PERLA ROMANCE NIGHT, the evening event was take place at Palazzo Clerici, Milan, with a presentation of the Spring/Summer 2013 Collections. The Palazzo Clerici garden was transgormed into a catwalk where the lingerie collection marched with an interpreted modern sensibility. Mediterranean elegance is characterized in the style of beachwear collection that plays with shades of terracotta and black, with hints of burgundy.

The capsule collection Jean Paul Gaultier - LA PERLA floated in the air thanks to a suspended installation that displayed these spectacular creations, which are inspired by the styles of the two maisons.

The reproduction of vintage shapes that appear more solidly constructed has been lightened thanks to the transparency of lace and tulle. Leavers lace (see my previous article 'Oriental Suite by LA PERLA Lingerie' with large flowers is combined with mesh inserts crossed by veins that simulate the whale-bones of corsets. The nightdresses are enhanced by applications of silk in the shape of large romantic bows.

Laces create a seductive motif between bra-cups or on the front of babydolls. FOCUS: the short petticoat tightly fastened throughout by silk ribbons that highlight the body. The geometrical structure of nineteenth-century underskirts has inspired the style of several exclusive garments. FOCUS: the unhemmed tulle twin-set with a pattern of overlapping triangles, the caged bra or slip made of satin ribbons and combined with its own intriguing chiffon culottes. Colours: sage green, terra-cotta, corn yellow, pink, beige, white, black.

Old-world emotions run along the threads of an embroidery on tulle reinvented for a vintage collection that is available with sophisticated two-tone effects. The decors of handkerchiefs that every noble lady used to carry are recreated in the macramé diamonds that are as precious as cameos.
