On 23 May, 2013, LoveGold proudly sponsored The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show, to celebrate 20 years of amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS gala. Curated by Carine Roitfeld, it featured gold gowns and jewellery from the world's finest emerging and legendary designers. Watch a full replay of the show, including highlights from the red carpet. The glamorous setting for The Ultimate Gold Collection, the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc, Cap d'Antibes. The legendary Eden Roc hotel opened its doors for the 2013 amfAR (Making Aids History) Gala with the The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show, curated by Carine Roitfeld, for Cinema Against AIDS. When mistress of ceremonies Sharon Stone hosted an evening that began with a dinner by followed the fashion show, and the auction for the benefit of amfAR, to raise money for the fight against AIDS. Caroline Scheufele (Chopard), Goga Ashkenazy (VIONNET), Heidi Klum, Roberto and Eva Cavalli, Petra Nemcova, Bianca Balti, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Eva Herzigova, Joan Smalls, Karolina Kurnikova, Roberto Cavalli and Peter Dundas (Emilio Pucci) were amongst the guests who dues deep to support this worthwhile cause, enjoy all the images of the evening as photographed by Saskia Lawaks.

Chopard and the tradition of the Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or

This year marks the 15^thanniversary of Chopard’s partnership with the
Cannes Film Festival. It all began in 1997 when Pierre Viot, President of the
Festival at the time, asked Caroline Scheufele, the Co-President and
Artistic Director, to redesign the Palme d’Or. The following year in 1998,
when the best film in the competition was announced, the audience discovered
a Palme d’Or of unprecedented beauty, symbolising love of cinema.

CONGRATULATIONS to Abdellatif Kechiche on receiving The Palme d’Or 2013, on Sunday May 26th, for his film “La vie d’Adèle” (“Blue Is The Warmest Colour”). We also congratulate the actresses Léa Seydoux in Maxime Simoens "sur mesure" and jewellery by Chopard, and Adèle Exarchopoulos in GUCCI!

“I was honored when Carine approached our brand to be part of this event. This pair of dueling Yowah Opal cuffs are a perfect example of the style and philosophy of the Kimberly McDonald brand. Each KMD piece is created from the finest materials and produced by skilled artisans in New York City,” McDonald explains. “Opals and Geodes are two of my favorite materials to create pieces from … interestingly enough is to this day we’re not 100 percent sure how either is created, but that mystery of nature is of great inspiration to my work.”

"For me there is nothing like gold,” says Love. “It is the most beautiful material to work in and my favorite medium with which to bring my designs to life. The pieces I created for this really highlight the colors, textures, and depth that can be achieved with gold.”

"I have been wanting to create an oversized cuff that had a modern and minimalistic feel for a while, so when the opportunity came about for this project, it was the perfect time to do it,” says Miansai designer Michael Saiger. “This piece came together flawlessly right from the first molds that were made. It has been an incredible experience and I’m really happy with how the cuffs turned out.”

Choosing to invest in a few key pieces, the fashion editor often layers her trademark necklaces for an eclectic look that compliments her undone, effortless style. Cementing her love of gold with a runway show dedicated entirely to the precious metal; she is curating The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show for amfAR at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, in collaboration with LoveGold. In Carine’s own words, she chose the theme because, “gold is extraordinary.”

Carine enlisted top fashion and jewelry designers from around the world to participate in this year’s gold-themed amfAR show in Cannes. Dedicated to Elizabeth Taylor, who spent a great deal of her life helping the fight against AIDS, the collection centers around gold because it represents warmth, love, and success. Adorned with her own personal jewelry, Elizabeth is wearing a few of the looks (from Comme des Garçons, Rick Owens, Miu Miu, and J.W. Anderson) from the runway.
